Handbag Care and Cleaning Tips
Things You’ll Need:
- Clean Cloth
- Mild Detergent

- Suede Cleaner
Always empty the handbag of its contents before you begin. Once it's empty, open it as widely as possible and shake out any dirt or debris.
Fabric Handbags
- Dry clean a fabric handbag or spot clean it with warm water and a gentle detergent such as Woolite using a clean, white cloth. Blot - don't rub - as you go.
- Take velvet or silk purses to the dry cleaners.
Leather and Suede Handbags
- Use leather cleaner on a leather handbag. Most shoe repair shops carry Saddle Soap which is a suggested cleaning agent.
- Use a Suede Cleaner on a suede handbag or a suede brush.
Other Materials
- Wipe a vinyl, plastic or wooden handbag with a clean, damp cloth.
