A star-studded affair in Hollywood brings light to important issues, and features Aigner accessories!

Variety’s Power of Women Event

On October 12th, 2018, activists, celebrities and newsmakers gathered in the ballroom of the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel for Variety’s 10th Annual Power of Women Luncheon.  The focus of this bi-annual event is to honor women who are making a difference through their impassioned volunteer work in their chosen charities and philanthropies.  This year’s honorees included Emma Gonzalez, who started March For Our Lives to change rhetoric on gun violence, Natalie Portman for her work in the Time’s Up movement and Lena Waithe for her contributions to The Trevor Project which advocates for LGBTQ teens.

A lineup of rousing and heartfelt speeches charged the pervasive air that was all about sisterhood and female empowerment. We were happy to send two of our fashionable friends to the event, decked out in Aigner handbags and shoes, to share in the riveting and emotional afternoon.  Molly My, of My Magazine and one of our past Aigner Journal subjects, carried our Irena Foldover Hobo as a chic clutch and wore our Seville booties.  Also in attendance was Brandi Fowler, contributing writer to InStyle and founder of lifestyle and travel site Destination Fab, who chose to wear accessories in Aigner’s signature cordovan hue and looked lovely outfitted in our Irena woven tote and Marelle booties for the event.

Etienne Aigner was so proud to be a gift bag sponsor for this prestigious event, gifting each attendee with a custom leather card case.  Top VIPs were also gifted our favorite Irena handwoven leather totes from the Fall season.
